Conference Venue

The Hellenic American College building at Massalias 22 in Athens will serve as the main venue for the “Europe in Discourse” conference. It will host the Conference Secretariat, the poster presentations and many of the parallel sessions. The Hellenic American College Auditorium will host a number of the plenary sessions as well.

The remaining plenary and parallel sessions will be held at the Institut Français at Sina 31, Athens, which is located 1 ½ blocks from the Massalias building.

Both facilities are wheelchair-accessible and offer wi-fi access and café-restaurants.

Easily accessible by metro, and many bus and trolley lines, Hellenic American College is located in downtown Athens, between the Kolonaki district to the east, a vibrant neighborhood dotted with cafés, art galleries and upscale shops, and the Exarchia neighborhood to the west, long considered the home of Athens alternative cultural and political scene, home to an array of cafés, music clubs, affordable tavernas and offbeat shops.

The facilities are within a 10-minute walk to Syntagma Square and the National Gardens, and to several major museums, including the Benaki Museum and the Museum of Cycladic Art. The Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum are two metro stops to the east, the National Archaeological Museum, two trolley stops to the west (or a 15-minute walk).
